Thrive Magazine is a 50-page magazine that is photographed, written and designed entirely by me. The issue contains a photo story, feature story, timeline, 14 advertisements, and an advice column with genuine advice submitted by people in my social network. This issue of Thrive covers various side hustles, social media trends, and local farmer’s markets.
As far as the concept of Thrive itself goes: I wanted to acknowledge the weird time in our lives that is our twenties. Having turned 22 when I began the project and with just under a year left of college, I had no idea what my life would look like even a year from then, let alone five or ten. I wanted to make space for myself to try new things without judgement, because that’s how we find out who we are.
A combination of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop wizardry was used to create the designs featured in Thrive.
Thrive Magazine placed first runner-up for the Best Magazine Award, given at the end of each semester for exceptional magazines that recieve the most votes from their peers.
